My friend Janay sent me this fwd and I liked the metaphor......
"Women are like apples on trees. The best ones are at the top of the tree. Most men don't want to reach for the good ones because they are afraid of falling and getting hurt. Instead, they sometimes take the apples from the ground that aren't as good, but easy. The apples at the top think something is wrong with them, when in reality, they're amazing. They just have to wait for the right person to come along, the one who is brave enough to climb all the way to the top of the tree. Now Men... Men are like a fine wine. They begin as grapes, and it's up to women to stomp them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with. "
Beyond the humor value of this metaphor, I think there's a little bit of truth. I've certainly experienced it at times. I've watched guys choose women with lots of baggage while I stood by (virtually baggage free I might add) just shaking my head in wonder. Though it's easy to become jealous, deep down I know that I wouldn't want to be picked by someone who is happy with just lazily picking up some apple off the ground. I'd rather be the treasured apple that someone strives to reach.
BTW, I'm not a man hater and I don't agree with the stomping them into shape part, but it did cause me to chuckle.

RANT: (noun) a loud bombastic declamation expressed with strong emotion.
RAVE: (noun) An extravagantly enthusiastic opinion or review.
RAMBLING: (noun) A walk without a definite route, taken merely for pleasure (I'm sure this applies to writing too).
So if I'm completely honest, I'm rarely a ranter, seldom a raver, but often a rambler. Come stroll with me.....
